Gerald D. Hines Waterwall and Hermann Park Engagement Photography Session Featuring Salmah & Akil was a success! Salmah and Akil have an electrical love! I say this because the sparks in Salmah's eyes when she looked at Akil are very evident. Akil’s energy matched Salmah’s, and you could tell because he would sneak a look at his wife to be me every moment he could. His eyes showed how much he adored her, and it was well deserved because Salmah was a pleasure. She laughed at all my bad jokes and gave me very useful information about being vegan and COVID. Salmah being a nurse is on the front lines and I want to take a moment to thank her for all she is doing. Akil and I have something in common, we are both entrepreneurs. We bounced some great ideas of each other during the session and his great intelligence shined through.
This session was truly unique because this was my first Muslim couple ever since I had begun a photographer. Boy did I have some questions for the two of them? They gave me such a new and different outlook on their religion and I truly appreciated that. Through the shoot, the pair made me realize that they were very grounded in their beliefs and spirituality and it shined through in the photos. After all the questions I truly fell like I have gained two new friends.
We made our water to the Gerald Hines Waterwall near Houston Galleria Mall and got in line. The water wall was packed but we socially distanced and captured some amazing moments. These two are amazing and I had a fantastic time photographing their timeless love!
